Build LoA Support

Build LoA support for your lifestyle.
Let’s recap:
- You know about Law of Attraction.
- You decided there was something in your life you want to change.
- You want to create a lifestyle built around Law of Attraction to help you do that.
You’re going to need some support!
By Mayo Clinic staff:
It doesn't take a scientific study to show that surrounding yourself with supportive family, friends and co-workers can have a positive effect on your mental well-being, but there is plenty of research to confirm it. A strong social support network can be critical to help you through the stress of tough times, whether you've had a bad day at work or a year filled with loss or chronic illness. It's never too soon to cultivate these important relationships — and your social support network can never have too many good friends. (found on www.Mayoclinic.com).

Lifestyles aren’t created in a vacuum. We’re not solitary creatures. Even the most shy, solitary person needs others. A hermit wouldn’t be a hermit if there were no others to be separate from. We need each other. I can’t be who I am unless you are who you are. It would be pointless to be a writer without a reader. I can’t be an employee without an employer, or a lover without a lovee.
In fact, we create the identities that define who we are in relation to others. We decide who we're willing to be in contrast to people and events. Our entire environment exists for this purpose – to provide a backdrop which lets us show up as WHO WE REALLY ARE.
Even our most private, silent thoughts, we experience as dialog!
This is truly a “Realm of the Relative”, and it’s impossible to BE without being in relationship to something…
…Since we can’t be without relationships, it is in our own best interest to construct relationships that support who we choose to be. Not all relationships do that.
Begin building supportive relationships specifically focusing on Law of Attraction. The people may begin to look a little different from the usual cast of characters. You would be looking for the most positive, supportive people, places, entertainment, etc that would be aligned with any lifestyle changes you've decided to make.
It goes without saying, that your very negative highschool buddy many not fit this description. Your desire to change this relationship may result in some contrast for you. You'll need to gain some clarity on this before you decide your best approach. Will you end the relationship, put it on hold or find some other unique solution?
This is just one example. Changes in other areas will produce similar contrast. You want to become a vegitarian? Will you be joining the afterwork crowd at Outback Steak House for dinner? There you go...contrast abounds. Just another opportunity to make choices.
Creating a really good support system may not happen all at once. In fact, if you try to initiate dramatic changes in your current support systems, you may knock yourself off track. As with prior processes, one particular area of your life may stand out as the place to start.
Set an intention to create your LoA Lifestyle Support System.
Here are some suggestions:
- If you enjoy reading as your favorite pastime, you’ve probably already read several books on the subject of Law of attraction. Check you local bookstore. There may be discussion groups related to specific books already in progress that you can join.
- If you attend a church or other spiritual group, there may be a Law of Attraction group already in place. Look them up, investigate it.
- If you have been a Law of Attraction group member for a while, branch out into new areas. Try live workshops presented by your favorite author or personal development guru. These are really fun. You meet lots of new people who are already on your wavelength.
- Get some CD’s or videos and invite some friends in to watch or listen with you.
- Get a study guide and post some notices to start up a
new group.
- Find online Meetup groups that pop up in your area. (http://www.meetup.com/).
- There are also chat groups and discussion forums all over the internet. A quick search is all you need to do.
One of the best things I ever did was to join the
Powerful Intentions Forum.
Some of these things will suit you and some things won’t, but you won’t find them unless you bravely step forward and try them out.
Try a session with a
Life Coach.
This is time spent with a person who has been specially trained to help you develop yourself in whatever area you choose. If in-person sessions aren’t possible because of distance, phone sessions work just as well. The perspective and advice of this kind of professional can be very valuable.
Maybe you have a friend who is actively and successfully creating new and wonderful things in her life all the time. Get close to her. Pick her brain. See if she’s interested in doing some processes with you. If you begin as 2, eventually you may find a third, and then more. These people may soon become your support system, all parties willing! You’ll wonder how you ever lived without them.
I have a small group who I think of as my Lifestyle Support System. They know just how to support me. Anything I bring up to these people is met with encouragement and wisdom. Knowing that there are NO BAD CHOICES in life, this circle of friends always allows me to follow my passion without criticism. They’re also not thrown off balance when I change my mind about a particular course of action and make a new choice.
When you find people like this, appreciate the juice out of them. They are wonderful manifestations of your own desire to create your best possible life. Also, when you get the opportunity to support someone else’s journey into lifestyle changes, get on board! Share the joy of the journey from the prospective of being the one who supports.
It works both ways!
