Journal Writing

Journal Writing - and how I became addicted to it.
Here's a fact - There are 4 big areas in life where we get our big problems or contrast:
These can be broken down into subcategories. For example:
- HEALTH would include WEIGHT or SLEEP, as well as DISEASES or BODILY CONDITIONS.
- INCOME or ABUNDANCE would come under MONEY.
- CAREER would be a WORK issue.
- FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS, LIFE PARTNER or CHILDREN would come under LOVE.
The point is we all have these areas of contrast in common. We're really not very different from one another. What has worked for someone before may very well work for you now...
... if you only knew what that was!
Well, here’s what works for me – Journal writing.
This has actually turned into a daily “practice” for me, like meditation and exercise. It's my one BIG-TIME PROCESS - My Primary Directive of ALL Processes.
I began doing this years ago. It morphed from being a weekly note taking exercise with my friend into its present day form.
Back then, my friend and I would meet to do what we called our Appreciation & Anticipation Process.
This consisted of informally discussing and jotting down in a notebook our immediate points of appreciation – absolutely NO negative statements allowed! Then we would list what we would be anticipating in the coming week. This was very much like the APPRECIATION & AMPLIFICATION PROCESS described on the
Deliberate Creation
page.
The goal was to build a nice high vibe with the concentration on appreciation, and then carry the higher vibe into pre-paving what we saw coming up for the week - that's the anticipation part. It was very effective just playing the game that way. Sometimes we still do it.
NOTE:
You may want to try this process with a friend. Remember the rule!NO Negativity Allowed!
At that point in my life, I found myself in some red-hot contrast with my marriage. Huge drama! I relied on the weekly Appreciation & Anticipation meetings to keep me going week to week, but it soon became apparent that I needed a daily dose of it. So I used the same notebook to play the game by myself.
IT WORKED!
I discovered that I could lift my vibration myself and use the higher vibe to launch my day from a higher perspective. And it was fun… then it became a habit. The big benefit was that I began to see some lightness coming back into my relationship. But that's another story...
Once the situation shifted a bit, I started playing around with expanding how I used the journal. At first I used a calendar that I got from the Abraham-Hicks people. They still sell this, so if you want to get one, go to their website, and search to find it. I used the motivational quotes on each calendar page to prompt me into some writing points. Mostly it consisted of making to-do lists for my day. Very effective!
Then I added the use of a daily “devotional” type book that I got from the Conversations with God Foundation. I don’t have that book any more. I don’t even remember the correct name of it. I don’t know if they still sell it – you can easily search and find out, or you can use another book you already know and love.
MAGIC!
The truly amazing thing about adding this second source of information was that I soon began to see that the subject of these two sources complemented and supported each other. I DID NOT try to coordinate this surprising event by searching through the material to find stuff that would be complementary – it just happened!
The next page of the daily calendar (undated - you entered the date yourself, as I remember) corresponded with the next day in the devotional book, those were dated sequentially. This still seems like magic to me!
So, I fell in love with the journal, and I keep experimenting with it even now – some 9 or 10 years later. I have replaced the book with other sources, and now I get a daily email from Abraham-Hicks, but the magic still happens regularly. I think of it as the Universe corresponding with me, in the same way you get correspondence in snail mail.
